The North Florida Research & Education Center - Suwannee Valley (NFREC), near Live Oak, provides a wide variety of educational opportunities based on diverse farm needs in the region, including: hydroponics, alternative enterprises, and best management practices.
NFREC - Suwannee Valley is home to IFAS hydroponic research and demonstration projects. The Center leads the nutrient management thrust in the Suwannee River region with research on nutrient and water management for several crops. Through its involvement with the Suwannee River Partnership, a consortium of government, industry, private, and education groups, in the Suwannee Valley area are addressed.
The IFAS Livestock Waste Testing Lab (LWTL) at the Center helps producers manage livestock wastes with economics and the environment in mind.
